Udinese Coach Cioffi Clears Doubts Ahead of Cagliari Game

Udinese are getting ready for their Sunday match against Walter Mazzarri’s, which will be a key battle along the path to avoid relegation for both clubs.

The Bianconeri coach Gabriele Cioffi received some bad news during the week as his star striker Gerard Deulofeu, who is Udinese’s top scorer this season, picked up a muscle strain during the Wednesday practice.

On the other hand, captain and key defender Bram Nuytinck has finally recovered from the injury he suffered in recent weeks and will join Marvin Zeegelaar and Rodrigo Becao in the starting 11. Marco Silvestri, who has had a good season so far, will be in the goal, as usual.

In view of Deulofeu’s absence, Gabriele Cioffi seems willing to start Ignacio Pussetto in place of the Spanish international. However, the gaffer also has an alternative idea in mind, i.e., advancing El Tucu Roberto Pereyra as attacking midfielder and positioning young talent Lazar Samardzic on the midfield line.

The Germany international, gifted with great talent and excellent technique, has been getting more and more playing time in the last few matches.

In both cases, the midfield package will be completed by Nahuel Molina and Destiny Udogie on the flanks, with Walace playing in the middle of the park.

Portuguese striker Beto, who just officially became a Udinese player after his buy-option cause was activated, will play upfront to complete the lineup.
