Roma head coach Ivan Juric talked to the press in the build-up to tonight’s must-win UEFA Champions League clash against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise. With just one win from their opening three Euroepan fixtures, victory is imperative for the Giallorossi at the Stade Joseph Marie.
“I feel the trust [of the Friedkin ownership], but we need to get results and we’re focused on that,” the Roma boss admitted, as reported by Calciomercato. “We’ve been in touch with the Friedkins, you don’t need to investigate too much.“
Speaking about today’s clash against the Belgian outfit, the under-pressure Roma manager explained the importance of taking three points.
“We need to win and play a great game for morale,” Juric stated. “Only the result matters. I’m sorry to talk about specific incidents, but it wasn’t fair to lose in Verona. We need to win for the standings but also for our morale.
“I think that after Florence we’ve played two good games, sometimes episodes determine the judgment,” the Roma boss added. “The game was positive, but the results are primary and no one is happy.
“I think the boys should cling to what they’re doing, trying to win games and they must believe in what they’re doing.”
Every game from now on could be Juric’s final as a Roma manager. After a 3-2 defeat at Hellas Verona last weekend, there’s no margin for error, with the Giallorossi stranded in Serie A mid-table amid a dreadful 11-game start (W3, D4, L4).
