Juventus and Fiorentina Announce Two Awaited Extensions

Juventus and Fiorentina have locked down two of their talents for years to come, as Federico Gatti and Michael Kayode have penned extensions until 2028 on Wednesday. The two deals had been in the works for a few weeks.

The budding defenders stepped up once more more established teammates went down with injuries earlier this season. The Bianconeri fullback has relieved Alex Sandro, faring well for the most part. Instead, the fullback has been impressive since Dodo suffered an ACL tear considering it’s his first turn in the pros.

Gatti and Kayode both enjoyed sizeable pay bumps with their new deals, especially the latter which multiplied his previous salary since it was minimal beforehand. The Bianconeri player commented on Twitch (via Sportitalia).

“Today is special because I inked the renewal. Juventus are like a second family. Continuing here is surely a very nice emotion. Until 2028. I would have pushed it even further. It means a lot. Every day I pass in front of the house where I lived as a kid. I left when I was 19/20 and never thought I would return to Turin.”

“Every day is a dream, and I have no intention of settling. I don’t know when, but I’m sure we’ll lift a trophy at some point. I hope it’ll be as soon as possible. We’re doing everything to achieve this goal.”
