Thiago Motta Throws Federico Chiesa’s Juventus Future Into Doubt

Juventus manager Thiago Motta delivered a potentially crucial update on Federico Chiesa’s future amid intense exit speculation. The former Bologna boss threw the Italian winger’s stay in Turin into further doubt in his latest interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
Federico is still part of Juventus at the moment, then we’ll see,” Motta said when asked about Chiesa’s situation at the Allianz Stadium.
Chiesa’s contract at Juventus runs out at the end of next season. The record-time Serie A champions have already informed the player he can forget about staying in Turin unless he commits his long-term future to the club. Yet, there’s been no progress in extension talks.
Though Juventus would sell their unsettled star for a satisfying offer, they’ve yet to receive a tangible proposal. Roma had shown interest in the ex-Fiorentina forward earlier in the summer. However, they’re on the verge of signing Matias Soule.
Soule is Daniele De Rossi’s top target, with Roma and Juventus ironing out the final details before the Argentine switches to the Stadio Olimpico. After the Giallorossi pulled out of talks for Chiesa, Inter have filled the blank, but they’d only sign the 26-year-old on a free transfer next summer.
It leaves Chiesa’s future at Juventus in limbo. After two troubled campaigns, plagued by injuries and misunderstandings with Massimiliano Allegri, his status in world football has derailed. However, there’s no doubt he’d find a new club without breaking a sweat.
Chiesa’s exit would likely accelerate Karim Adeyemi’s rumored move to Juventus.
