Official: Ex Inter Midfielder Joins Monza on Free Transfer

Serie A outfit Monza proudly announced the arrival of former Inter playmaker Stefano Sensi on a free transfer. The Biancorossi took to X on Thursday night to unveil the experienced midfielder as their new summer signing.

The 29-year-old is no stranger to the Brianteo Stadium. He spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Monza, impressing former manager Raffaele Palladino and club CEO Adriano Galliani. Despite Palladino’s exit, Monza’s ambition to reunite with Sensi has never faded.

After several weeks of talks, the versatile midfielder has agreed to return to his old stomping ground. Sensi has recently been training with Alessandro Nesta’s team and even featured in a pre-season friendly against his former side, Sassuolo. Content with the player’s fitness level, Monza have rewarded him with a permanent contract.

Sensi was supposed to be one of the best modern-day midfielders in Serie A upon his senior breakthrough at Sassuolo. Known for his vision and sublime passing, Sensi boasts eye-catching technical qualities. Unfortunately, the new Monza man has proved terminally unable to stay away from the treatment room.

Recurring injury problems plagued Sensi’s career at Inter. He only made 31 league appearances during his four-year stint at Giuseppe Mezza. Sensi can only hope to stay healthy in his second spell at Monza.

After losing Andrea Colpani to Fiorentina, Sensi’s arrival is just what the doctor ordered for Monza. Galliani added another decent-looking option to Nesta’s midfield in late July, with Daniel Maldini returning to the club permanently.
