Inter Scouted a Few Monza Players over the Weekend

Inter director Piero Ausilio was spotted in the stands of Sunday’s clash between Monza and Roma. While that’s routine for execs, he might be keeping an eye on three Brianzoli players in particular, Calciomercato informs.

The Nerazzurri are always on the lookout for young talents and are monitoring the growth of Warren Bondo. Henrikh Mkhitaryan isn’t getting any younger, and their newcomer Piotr Zielinski isn’t a spring chicken either. The French starlet became an indispensable starter for the Biancorossi last season.

The Inter officials have two more Monza regulars in their crosshairs: Andrea Carboni and Dany Mota Carvalho, who equalized the game late. The Nerazzurri signed a left-footed defender, Tomas Palacios, after a long search. However, he has yet to debut. They turned to Carlos Augusto and Stefan De Vrij when Alessandro Bastoni rested. The Italian center-back has turned into a specialist in the position.

The attacker has dealt with a couple of minor injuries but has hit the net twice in his four appearances. He’s been with the Brianzoli since 2018 and has accompanied their climb to the top flight. He has recorded 32 goals and 22 assists in 145 appearances with them.

Our Take on Inter and Monza

It’s normal due diligence and probably nothing will come from it. They likely won’t do anything in January but, if they decided to shore up their squad, the two veterans would address two needs, as Palacios isn’t an asset yet, and Mota Carvalho is different from their current strikers and a nice change-of-pace guy off the bench.
