Juventus Chief Giuntoli Delivers Major Updates On Two First-Team Stars

Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has admitted Gleison Bremer’s long-term injury will likely force the club’s hand in January. During his latest interview with Calciomercato, Giuntoli addressed several other hot topics, including the Turin giants’ stance on Paul Pogba.

Bremer suffered a season-ending knee injury against RB Leipzig, leaving new Juventus manager Thiago Motta short of reliable defensive options. Pierre Kalulu partnered with Federico Gatti at the heart of his backline in last night’s narrow 1-0 win against Lazio. But the Frenchman isn’t a sustainable solution.

However, Juventus will not go for broke to replace Bremer. Giuntoli insists the Bianconeri will wait for presentable opportunities in the market before deciding to act.

Bremer’s injury makes us think that the January market can give us a hand. We will wait for opportunities while knowing that the January market is not an easy one. In the meantime, let’s see what the boys in the squad can give,” the Juventus chief executive said.

Pogba’s future has been among the major talking points in Italy after the reduction of his ban earlier in October. Giuntoli confirmed there’s no place for the French midfielder at Juventus anymore after the club went to great lengths to strengthen Motta’s engine room in the summer.

Our position is very clear. Paul was a great player, but he has been out of action for a long time, last year and this year we have been forced to make a lot of investments in other players. Right now the squad is complete,” the Juventus bigwig was adamant.
