Tammy Abraham has taken a decisive step back in his second season at Roma. He has scored just 4 goals in 21 appearances so far, routinely missing sitters.

Abraham Lauds Dybala, Shrugs Off Premier League Return

Tammy Abraham warmly welcomed Paulo Dybala and discussed a few Roma-related and personal topics in an interview with Corriere dello Sport.

“I sent him a text because I didn’t expect it. It was truly incredible. It’s privilege for us to have somebody of his caliber in our squad. It means a lot to the fans and even more to us. We are building a high-profile project. There is no jealousy whatsoever, as there’s room for two kings, right?”

Abraham spoke about Roma’s goals and ambitions.

“Naturally, we want to do better than last season and go for a top-four finish. It must be our objective. It’s fair for supporters to dream. I would be lying if I said that I didn’t want to win the Scudetto at some point. Everybody wishes that. However, to achieve it, we have to play up to our full potential. We won something last season and we want to keep doing it.”

The striker isn’t thinking about a Premier League comeback.

“I’ve felt at home here since day one. I’m not in a hurry to return in England, because I can express my style here. Being in Italy makes me happy under every aspect. Moreover, I tend to focus on the present rather than the future. I’m zeroing in on the upcoming season, because I want it to be my finest yet. I haven’t regretted leaving Chelsea for one second. Joining the Giallorossi was the best decision I’ve ever made.”

Abraham was asked to pick between Antonio Conte and José Mourinho.

“You can’t do it. They are both excellent professionals and vastly proved it. I believe in the Special One and he brings the best out of me.”
