Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri provided an update on Paul Pogba, who’s still sidelined and weighed in on Dusan Vlahovic and Romelu Lukaku following a scrimmage with the Next Gen squad at the Continassa training center Wednesday (via Tuttomercatoweb).
“Pogba trained fully Tuesday, then he had to recover afterward. Having him available in 20-to-30 days would like an important purchase. Maybe not from the start but on the bench. We have to be optimistic and hope that the knee doesn’t flare up again.”
“He had more problems last year, while the joint reacted better this summer. We can’t expect him to be in the XI right away upon his return. It would still be beneficial to use him for 20/25 minutes.”
Allegri was quizzed about the much-discussed trade between Vlahovic and Lukaku.
“Our idea is to have the former as our center-forward, along with our three other important strikers. I’m happy with our squad, as I told Cristiano Giuntoli. Then, there are also economic evaluations at stake. It’s up to the management to make them. If there are large offers, the front office, whose goal is to make the club more sustainable, has to mull them. I don’t intervene on that.”
