Milan talent Rafael Leao has grown to become one of Stefano Pioli’s most important players this season, as he continues his gradual development as one of Serie A’s best youngsters. He has 11 goals and 6 assist in 31 appearances this season and his goal contributions are twice of what he could muster in his previous two campaigns at San Siro.
His increased presence for Milan is attracting interest from all over Europe, with Premier League clubs specially interested in him. But, according to reports from Spanish outlet Sport, it is Barcelona who are the most recent team to enter the race for his signature.
The Blaugrana are considering their attacking options, as Real Madrid target Erling Haaland seems increasingly distant with ach passing day. 22-year-old Leao is arguably Milan’s most consistent forward this season. He has 17 goal contributions this campaign, four more than Olivier Giroud, and is fast becoming a wanted name for interested clubs.
The former Lille forward is represented by Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes, who has maintained close relations with Barcelona, thanks to his other clients for the club such has Alex Balde and Adama Traore. Accordign to most recent reports from Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), the Spanish giants have already opened talks with Mendes over a potential move.
Leao has a transfermarkt value of €35m and will run out of contract in Lombardy in the summer of 2024.
