Champions League Group Stage Opponents Set for Serie A Teams

The Serie A sides will have their work cut out for them to make it to the knockout stage of the Champions League. As always, the draw, held in Istanbul this time around, picked some fascinating match-ups in the first phase.

Milan had it the hardest, as natural since they were in the fourth pool. While they avoided the group of death with Manchester City and PSG, they have been paired up with Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Porto. The Rossoneri are making their Champions League return after an eight-year absence.

Inter are in a similar group compared to last season. However, they will face two Italian coaches this time around, though, as they will square off against Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk. Sheriff Tiraspol rounds its out.

Juventus have a double tilt with the reigning Champions League winners on the docket. On top of Chelsea, they will deal with Zenit and Malmoe. Atalanta got away fairly easily since considering they were in the third pool. They will do battle with Manchester United, Villarreal and Young Boys.
