Italy regista Jorginho’s rise to footballing glory could have been extremely different, had he not moved to Chelsea. After four years at the helm of Napoli’s midfield, Jorginho was signed by the Blues along with the deep lying playmaker’s coach at the club Maurizio Sarri.
However, it could have been very different. The 30-year-old’s agent has revealed of several other clubs who were in talks for his services, including Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. In fact, even Milan were interested in luring Jorginho north to Lombardy from Naples.
Reportedly, Joao Santos, the player’s representative had held talks with Rossoneri director Ricky Massara.
“In the past I have spoken with PSG, Barcelona and also with Massara of Milan. I don’t know if they want it now. I also speak with Massara. I don’t know if they are still interested. nothing Chelsea cannot sell, buy or renew contracts,” said Santos (via MilanNews)
Chelsea are currently stuck in limbo due to the UK government’s sanctions on Russian assets due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The EURO 2020 winner’s contract with the Blues expires in June 2023.
