As Lorenzo Insigne’s contract wears down at the end of the current season, clubs across Europe have been signaled the potential opportunity to sign the Napoli star. One of those clubs is Tottenham Hotspur. With Insigne’s contract expiring in June 2022, he is touted to enter the January winter transfer market as one of the most sought-after players in the market.
Led by the enigmatic Antonio Conte, Spurs are reportedly eager to add the EURO 2020 winner into their roster. According to reports from La Repubblica, the Italian coach is said to be a huge fan of Insigne’s abilities – especially since he played under Conte for two years in the national team between 2014 and 2016.
Tottenham are now the frontrunners for Insigne’s signature and a move for him is imminent by the North London giants in January. They are one of the few clubs that can match the 30-year-old’s wage demands.

Napoli have offered €3.5m net per season on a four-year deal, whereas the forward himself demands a salary in the range of €5m – something that Partenopei chief Aurelio De Laurentiis has withheld from giving into.
Inter have also been linked to the star forward, who was on their wish list in the recently concluded summer transfer window. However, the Nerazzurri kept from making a move for him, knowing the fact that he would be available as a free agent at the end of the season.
Insigne’s agent Vincenzo Pisacane recently revealed that January is the time that ‘everything will change’ regarding the current situation between the player and the club.
