Conte Asks for More Wingbacks – Inter Shortlist PSG and Chelsea Men

Saying that Antonio Conte loves adding wingbacks to his squad would be a major understatement. The coach’s 3-5-2 formation heavily relies on the runs and crosses of his flank men, and he would like to reunite with two of his former players – Alessandro Florenzi and Emerson Palmieri – and the Inter management will try its best to make it happen.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato), Paris Saint Germain are yet to decide on whether or not to redeem the contract of Florenzi.

The Former Roma captain has joined the Ligue 1 champions on an initial loan deal at the beginning of the campaign. Although he has mostly impressed under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel and his successor Mauricio Pochettino, the club are still reflecting on the situation.

If PSG choose to maintain the 30-year-old on a permanent basis, then they must buy his outrights for a transfer fee worth 9 million euros.

Otherwise, the player shall return to the Italian capital which would effectively open the door for the Nerazzurri to pounce on the situation.

Conte had previously coached the right-back between 2014 and 2016 whilst taking charge of the Italian national team, and the source claims that there have been some phone calls in order to test the waters.

Besides Florenzi, Conte would also like to add Emerson – who he previously brought at Chelsea – to his Inter squad.

The Italo-Brazilian has fallen down in the pecking order in West London, with Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso being favored in the left wingback role, but he remains a regular feature with the Gli Azzurri.

Therefore, the 26-year-old would relish the chance of returning to Serie A – after previously playing for Roma – and has also been linked with a transfer to Juventus.
