Crystal Palace Interested in Two Serie A Attacking Midfielders

Crystal Palace have set their eyes onto two talented Serie A midfielders: Sampdoria’s Mikkel Damsgaard and Sassuolo’s Filip Djuricic. The club has inquired about them through intermediaries ahead of possible bids in the summer, Tuttomercatoweb reports. However, their chase will not be easy.

Damsgaard has been one of the revelations of the season as he has been able to carve out a significant role for himself in his first year in the Peninsula. The 20-year-old Dane was acquired from Nordsjaelland for €6.5M and has made an impact right away for the Blucerchiati. He has been deployed all over the front-line and has tallied 2 goals and 4 assists in 27 matches, shining in particular as a super-sub.

His good performances have drawn the attention also of Tottenham, Leicester, Inter and Juventus. Sampdoria have yet to decide whether they will put him on the market this summer already or if they will try to keep him for another campaign.

Filip Djuricic, who has been in Serie A since 2017, had to deal with some physical issues but is on track to have his best season to date. He has already matched his career high for goals with few games remaining in the schedule.

The contract of the 29-year-old Serbian international expires in 2022, but he is rumored to be nearing an extension. His future could be tied to the coach Roberto Di Zerbi’s one, who brought him over from Benevento when he was appointed by the Neroverdi. The young gaffer will be in high demand in the summer if he decides to leave the team.
