Fikayo Tomori Happy at Milan But Still Unsure About His Future

Chelsea loanee Fikayo Tomori said to be appreciative of his time in Milan, but did not offer many hints about his future in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport. The Rossoneri have a €28M option to acquire him at the end of the season and are reportedly trying to lower it.

The defender stated: “I like Italy. The weather is better compared to England, the people is more serene. There is time to relax, while everybody is in a hurry in London. My family and friends are in the United Kingdon and I obviously miss them as normal, but I am great in Milan. I was surprised to see how quickly the fans started to embrace me. They are very affectionate. It was easy to get acclimate since everybody was so friendly.”

On the title race: “There is some gap with Inter but I do not see why we would not believe until the end. Returning in Champions League is a major goal, but you always have to aim higher. We can do something special.”

On Zlatan Ibrahimovic: “He can be a little rough but he motivates and talks to us a lot. He is an example for his dedication and competitive spirit.”

On Paolo Maldini: “Playing for him is like having Lionel Messi as a director for a striker. You want to impress him every day. Serie A is like a university for defenders.”

On his future: “I am glad the supporters want me to stay at Milan. But it is not just up to me to decide. I enjoy myself and live in the moment. I am happy to be here and do not think about it too much.”
