German Agent Visits Three Italian Club Headquarters

Chelsea flop Timo Werner has been the shadow of a player at Stamford Bridge when compared to the goalscoring machine he proved himself to be at RB Leipzig. Although the German forward is a reigning European champion, having conquered the Champions League trophy in his first season with the Blues, he is expected to seek his future elsewhere in the coming transfer window.

According to reports from Calciomercato, his agent Volker Struth frequented travels within Italy in recent weeks, visiting a multitude of clubs in northern Italy, presumably to discuss his clients’ futures. The German represents not only Werner, but also Benfica midfielder Julian Weigl.

As per reports, Struth visited the headquarters of Juventus at Continassa, Milan at Milanello and Atalanta’s Bortolotti center. However, all the clubs, the Bianconeri have been strongly linked with both the players because of the club’s interest in reinforcing players in both those positions, despite the signings of Denis Zakaria and Dusan Vlahovic in the winter transfer window.

Both Weigl and Werner have asking prices of around the €40m mark. And while it may not be in the best interests of the club to bring in both, Werner looks likelier the target for the Bianconeri upfront, especially with Alvaro Morata’s future up in the air. However, the £14m net per season he earns at Chelsea will be a mammoth task to cover.
