26-year-old Hellas Verona attacking midfielder Antonin Barak has fired shots of warning at Juventus ahead of their Serie A showdown at the weekend at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Benetegodi. Verona have so far taken on heavyweights Inter, Roma, Milan and Lazio in the league, and Juventus are next.
The duo face each other in a match that will witness Verona level on points with the Bianconeri at 15, if they manage to squeeze out a victory. The away side come into the clash on the back of their disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Sassuolo.
The Old Lady saw a nine game unbeaten run come to an end mid-week whereas Verona are buzzing from three consecutive home wins.
Speaking of which, Barak commented (via Tuttosport): “It will be a wonderful challenge and we aim to continue to do well in our home, in front of our fans who were extraordinary in Udine as well.
We are returning from three consecutive wins at the Bentegodi and we want to continue to demonstrate that we can play with courage against any opponent.”
This season’s Serie A campaign has witnessed Napoli pull off an unprecedented run of form as they on top of the table with 9 wins out of 10 games, garnering 28 points out of a possible 30.
Juventus and Verona sit in 7th and 10th place respectively.
