Inter Face Competition to Sign Mönchengladbach Ace

As Newcastle United approach Inter target Matthias Ginter to take him away from under the Nerazzurri’s noses, it is looking highly likely that the 27-year-old is nearing the end of his Borussia Mönchengladbach career.

He is one of Inter’s targets for next summer, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TUTTOmercatoweb). A pre-contract agreement can be signed between Ginter and Inter in January, but as of the moment, Newcastle are also intensifying their desire for the soon-to-be free agent.

Bayern Munich had also made their interest known previously.

His contract with Gladbach is set to be expire at the end of the current season, in June 2022, and no agreement has been found yet between the two parties.

If Inter do manage to secure Ginter’s signature, he will become the club’s second free transfer signing, after Ajax shotstopper Andre Onana, whose signing is expected to be made official soon.

The versatile German defender is represented by the same agent as Hakan Calhanoglu – Gordon Stipic. That makes the negotiations a bit more familiar between the two parties.
