Inter continue to negotiate with Lazio for Joaquin Correa, but they have prepared a plan B if the talks were unsuccessful. Yesterday, they held a meeting with Torino to discuss Andrea Belotti. The Euro champion would be less expensive and easier to get than the Argentinian attacker, Sky Sport reports.
The Nerazzurri powerbrokers Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio visited with Granata owner Urbano Cairo. Despite receiving a strong offer from his club, Belotti has yet to agree to an extension. His contract is up in 2022, and his departure is likely at this stage.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Torino initially asked for €20M, but Inter managed to lower the request to €15M. They will soon have a summit with his agent as well. The 27-year-old forward got off to a good start by scoring against Atalanta in the opener.
The arrival of Belotti would rule out the acquisition of Correa. Lazio want €35M for their forward, including add-ons. Instead, Inter offered a season-long loan with obligation to buy for a total of €30M. The gap is not too wide but the dialogue between the two sides is problematic, Sky Sport informs.
On the other hand, Simone Inzaghi has his former player atop his list, and Correa also wishes to join Inter, Alfredo Pedullà reports. He also drew interest from Everton. Lazio have long identified Filip Kostic as their replacement for the Argentinian forward. They need to complete the sale of their ace to finalize the deal with Eintracht Frankfurt, though.
