Inter to Offer Milan Skriniar Contract Extension Deal

Inter defender Milan Skriniar’s future has been discussed quite a few times in the recently concluded winter transfer window. Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur was linked to him in the past, and so were Real Madrid, but he chose to stay put as Simone Inzaghi’s last bastion.

The Slovakian centre-back sees his contract expire at the end of the 2022/23 season and so far, no contract extension deal has emerged from Inter’s end. However, according to latest reports from Calciomercato, Skriniar will remain at the Giuseppe Meazza beyond 2023.

Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio made his intentions clear to the stopper that he is in line for contract negotiations once the situations of Samir Handanovic and Ivan Perisic are assessed properly.

27-year-old Skriniar has always made it transparent that he wants to remain in the club’s ranks, as a leader in the back. Inzaghi has relied heavily on the Slovakian to rescue his team out of slippery situations and now it looks like Inter faithful can rejoice at the positive initial contact regarding the renewal deal.

He has been rock solid at the back ever since his move from Sampdoria and now is just one appearance short of the 200 mark for the Nerazzurri in his fifth season running.
