Inzaghi Underlines Importance of Sheriff Tiraspol Game for “Angry” Inter

Simone Inzaghi urged Inter not to underestimate Sheriff Tiraspol: “They did not win two matches by chance. We faced Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk too, and they are excellent teams. They will be enthusiastic and organized. They do not just sit back and counter. We will have to attack with caution. It is a crucial game for us.”

“My sides generally create and score a lot, and we have the most prolific attack in Serie A, but we conceded a little more than usual. We are still fuming for the loss against Lazio. The players were irate because they are winners. We will finally have to hit the target in Europe tomorrow. We are certainly looking to find better balance, but it is a general problem. We are not allowing more goals only because of what the defenders or the strikers are doing.”

Inzaghi looked at the previous fixtures: “We were imprecise against Real Madrid. We bagged six goals with similar numbers in the next match. I think that, against Lazio, we had our best away performance in the first 65 minutes. Our only issue was failing to double the lead. The Biancocelesti have quality, and you must put them away. We were disappointed, but I liked that the players were very angry. We will have to be aggressive and determined tomorrow. It is a pivotal bout for us, and we have to tackle it with intelligence.”

Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez will be available after sitting out the previous tilt: “The South Americans practiced well. Alexis played three matches in a row with his national team, and I am happy because he is improving physically. He will be an added value.”
