Italy Regista ‘Offered’ Serie A Return as Juventus Make First Contact

Italy and Chelsea midfield ace Jorginho has been ‘offered’ a return back to Serie A by Juventus, according to latest reports from BBC Sport (via TuttoNapoli). It has been no secret that Juventus have been eager to bolster their midfield ranks despite the signings of Manuel Locatelli and Denis Zakaria this season.

The Brazil-born regista is being touted to open a new chapter in his career but it is understood that Chelsea place him as one of their most important players, thus unwilling to let him leave. However, his contract is due in the summer of 2023 and the Blues would rather cash in on his services instead of seeing him leave for free at the end of next season.

The Premier League outfit are prepared to lose Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on free transfers this summer, and they would undoubtedly be keen to avoid the same fate with the former Napoli man.

A host of Serie A clubs have been linked with the EURO 2020 winner, including Milan, Inter, Juve, Napoli and Roma, but as per the latest reports, it is the Bianconeri who have expressed their concrete interest to his agent Joao Santos.

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri is also understood to be keen to reunite with the Chelsea midfielder, having managed him during the duo’s time at Napoli before the Blues came calling.
