Juventus Finally Put Director Giuntoli Under Contract

A week after his release from Napoli, Juventus have formally announced the appointment of Cristiano Giuntoli as their new football director. The exec inked a five-year contract that will run until 2028. He departed the Azzurri after eight seasons. He previously spent time at Spezia and especially Carpi, where he earned four promotions in the span of five campaigns.

The Bianconeri have modified their hierarchy as a result of the hiring. Former chief of football Francesco Calvo is now the managing director revenue & football development. Giovanni Manna will become the head of the first team. Instead, suspended official Federico Cherubini will be the chief of staff. The Old Lady previously reunited with Claudio Chiellini, who will helm the Next Squad, succeeding Manna who was promoted to fill in because of the various trials.

Giuntoli offered his thoughts to Juventus TV.

“My first sensations are incredible and almost indescribable. I used to come from Prato by bus, traveling for eight hours, to watch this team. It’s a great satisfaction and an extraorinary emotion. I’m thinking about my father, who was a passionate Bianconeri fan and instilled his passion in me since I was a kid. I thank him for that. This club is ambitious and fascinating. We’ll have to outwork the others. Then, time will tell whether we have managed. We have to reason as a collective. I’d like to combine a few minds with one heart.”
