Massimiliano Allegri commented on what comes with coaching Juventus a few hours after the report about a potential early departure while attending a legends’ event in Turin (via TuttoSport).
“When you work here, you must live under pressure and with great responsibility. That’s what you need to achieve great success. It’s natural. You must always work hard to obtain results. We’re doing it with a group of players that has a great future ahead of them.”
Allegri doesn’t seem to have any intention of slowing down.
“I’m happy and proud to be part of Juventus’ history. I was unaware of how many Derby victories we had until yesterday. I’m still hungry to contribute and try to win. It’s not easy.”
He weighed in on the past coaches.
“Marcello Lippi was very meaningful and has always been a reference point to me. He was a successful and pragmatic manager, like Fabio Capello and Giovanni Trapattoni. I would have liked to train Michel Platini, since I watched him when I was a kid, and Zinedine Zidane.”
According to journalist Claudio Zuliani, Allegri will probably stay put next summer too (via Tuttomercatoweb).
“He has two years on his contract. Andrea Agnelli wanted him back, John Elkann confirmed him, and Cristiano Giuntoli voiced his appreciation. Everybody’s backing him. He’ll stay next year if he wins a trophy and can play in the Champions League again, then we’ll see. I don’t think his Bianconeri spell is ending.”
