Juventus Legend Del Piero: “Coming Fifth is Not Bad for Lazio”

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has given his thoughts on Lazio’s race for a top-four finish. The Biancocelesti have experienced a decent run of form recently, which makes the iconic Bianconeri forward believe they are well worthy of a high finish. After the 1-1 draw against Udinese that saw Maurizio Sarri’s side produce a sub-par performance, things look extremely tight in the fight for a European spot next campaign.

Speaking to the microphones of Sky Calcio Club (via LazioNews24), the now football pundit says Lazio are having a decent run of form of late and a fifth position wouldn’t be too bad for them.

“Coming fifth is not bad for Lazio, with everything that has happened. It’s a good championship, Sarri has held the team in his hand. Now there is the moment of truth, which concerns everyone,” he commented.

Lazio are in close contention for a top half finish, but face great opposition from the likes of a resurgent Fiorentina, Jose Mourinho’s Roma and shaky Atalanta. Sarri’s men are unbeaten in five league matches, having last faced defeat in Serie A back on January 9 at the hands of Inter.
