Juventus Linked to Manchester City Potential Outcast

Juventus have Aymeric Laporte on their radar should they make an addition in the back. The Bianconeri have several moving pieces at the position. They want to move on from Alex Sandro, while Leonardo Bonucci would leave if he found a quality destination. Moreover, a few sides are eyeing Gleison Bremer.

According to La Stampa (via 90min), the Spanish center-back will be made available by Manchester City if and when they acquire Josko Gvardiol. They are in advanced talks with RB Leipzig.

At that point, Juventus would aim to sign Laporte at a discount through a loan with option to buy for around €25/30M. The Champions League winners paid €57M to purchase him from Athletic Bilbao in 2018. On the other hand, he has robust wages and would easily attract other suitors.

The Old Lady has often been attached to the 29-year-old in the past, but things didn’t move past initial inquiries considering the costs of the deal.

Our Take on Juventus and Laporte

The Bianconeri will need a left-footed center-back if Sandro and Bonucci bolt, but partying ways with the duo is easier said than done. While he’s likely on his way out of Manchester City, other than the price tag, the problem could be the timing, as other sides could be quicker to act.
