Juventus are considering moving on from Massimiliano Allegri following their second trophyless season in a row. If they took that route, the Bianconeri would look for a somewhat amicable split that would allow them to come to terms regarding the early termination of his hefty contract, La Repubblica informs.
The gaffer and his staff are tied to the team for two more years for a total of €43M gross. The manager has progressively grown distant from new executives Francesco Calvo and Maurizio Scanavino because of the recent results and problems with the players. The duo struck a deal with Cristiano Giuntoli without consulting him. Owner John Elkann will ultimately make the call on the boss, who could eventually agree to a severance package if asked directly. The decisive summit will occur right after the final game.
Allegri dished on his Juventus future following the loss to Milan to Sky.
“As far as I’m concerned, I will stay for sure unless the management thinks otherwise. I’m eager and enthusiastic. We knew there would be some issues but not that all hell would break loose. I would make this choice again. This is a challenge. I could have joined two teams that were more ready to win, but I didn’t. I picked the Old Lady even though I was aware it would be more difficult. I have a special relationship with the ownership, and I felt like I owed them.”
According to Goal, the Bianconeri have shortlisted Igor Tudor, Thiago Motta, and Sergio Conçeicao should they really move on from Allegri.
