Juventus Once Again Pursuing Morata Amid Vlahovic Buzz

Juventus have routinely chased after Alvaro Morata after the last time he left Turin, and their interest hasn’t waned completely. The striker has been tipped to prolong his contract with Atletico Madrid a few times, but he has yet to put pen to paper. It currently expires in June 2024.

Per TuttoSport, the Colchoneros are in advanced talks to extend it until 2027, which would preclude a departure for free. The Bianconeri would have to go through his side to onboard him at that point, but it wouldn’t be totally out of the question.

Juventus would re-heat their interest in Morata especially should they sell Dusan Vlahovic. They are trying to convince the Serb to agree to a new contract, reducing his yearly financial impact, but he’s not so inclined to give up money. He’s tied to the team long-term already, until 2026, but his future will be a topic of conversation next summer without a deal, Corriere dello Sport relays (via OneFootball).

The Spanish veteran is enjoying his most prolific campaign to date. He has bagged 12 goals in 14 appearances, adding 3 assists for good measure.

Our Take on Juventus and Morata

He’d be a good fit and he’s been great this season. Whatever has been going on with his contact is very weird since he’s been extensively expected to re-up, but it hasn’t happened. Still, hopefully, Cristiano Giuntoli will bring some creativity rather than going after the same targets all over again.
