Juventus One Step Away from Completing Another Midfield Signing

Juventus and Khephren Thuram have found common ground as the son of the ex-Bianconeri star Lilian said ‘yes’ to the Turin giants. According to Calciomercato, it’s now up to the Italian side to convince Nice to agree to their proposed €15 million valuation of the highly-rated midfielder.

Thuram’s value has suffered a significant drop compared to last summer. As he only has one year left to run on his contract, Nice can no longer expect to earn €40m they asked for 12 months ago. However, they remain confident of adding €25m to the club’s accounts, a figure Juventus have no intention of matching.

Thus far, Juventus have proved willing to go as far as €15m to get the deal over the line. Aware it won’t be enough to soften Nice’s stance, they hope to close the discrepancy by including counterparts in the operation. Unfortunately for Cristiano Giuntoli, the Ligue 1 giants have already rebuffed Arkadiusz Milik and Filip Kostic.

Both players struggled with injuries last term. On top of that, their lucrative contracts at Juventus are out of reach for Nice. Giuntoli’s latest idea is to send Moise Kean to France. Heavily linked with a move to Fiorentina, the beleaguered striker carries a miserable €3m price tag, a far cry from the €10m that separates the two sides.

However, Juventus won’t back off, especially after receiving a go-ahead from Thuram. That’s not what Roma chiefs would want to hear after joining their bitter Serie A rivals in the race for the 23-year-old.

  1. Juve will get Nice’s Thuram… already a better player, one quarter of the price.
