Juventus Receive Mixed News from Test Results of Injured Stars

Juventus grabbed the first home win of the season against Sampdoria Sunday. However, the celebrations were muted as there was fear Paulo Dybala had sustained a serious muscular injury. The Argentinian striker left the pitch in tears a few minutes after scoring. Alvaro Morata subbed off with a physical issue later on as well.

The two forwards took the tests earlier today, which revealed that Morata’s problem is more severe than Dybala’s one. The Spanish international has been diagnosed with a low-grade strain of the biceps femoris muscle in the right thigh. Instead, La Joya got away with a pull of the semitendinosus muscle of the left thigh.

Juventus announced that the two players will return after the second international break. While Dybala should be back right away, Morata could need more time, Sky Sport reports. His injury might take up to a month to heal fully, forcing him to miss further matches. His timetable will become clearer later on.

What is certain is that Juventus will have to face Chelsea midweek and Torino Sunday without their two most prolific players. Moise Kean and Dejan Kulusevski are next in line to fill in. The returning striker has scored once thus far, while the Swedish starlet dished an assist versus Sampdoria. Massimiliano Allegri stated in the pre-game presser that he considered him an alternative to Dybala given their similar styles. Federico Bernardeschi also threw his name in the hat to play in a potential trident, as he has often done with Italy.
