Juventus formally bid adieu, at least for the time being, to Filip Kostic on Monday and will keep trying to ship off Arthur. The Serb officially joined Fenerbahce on loan with an option to buy. The Turkish side will take care of his wages and would be able to sign him permanently for €6M.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Bianconeri are trying to find a landing spot for the midfielder in the same country. They are willing to cover up to 40 percent of his salary. He has turned down a few options from there and Greece because they weren’t enticing enough.
Juventus will have time until Friday to send Arthur to Turkey. The window ends on the same date in Serbia, a day earlier in Russia, and two in Greece. At this stage, there are no advanced negotiations, Calciomercato informs. The Bianconeri will try again in January if they don’t manage before the end of the week.
Per TuttoSport, the 28-year-old has been inserted in the UEFA and Serie A list and can technically play for them if he doesn’t leave. On the other hand, he has trained on the side for the whole summer.
Our Take on Juventus and Arthur
They eventually parted ways with everybody they no longer wanted to keep but one of the heaviest surplus players financially speaking given his €5M salary and residual cost on the balance sheets a few years removed from the boneheaded swap with Miralem Pjanic, the final remnant of the Fabio Paratici era. Thiago Motta’s system runs on midfielders, and he was pretty good at Fiorentina, but he won’t find much room if he stays.
