Lazio and Napoli Facing Issues in Pursuit of Lille Fullback

Lazio and Napoli have set their sights on Reinildo Mandava, but Lille have not lowered their demands for the time being. The left-back has just six months left on his contract. However, the French club asks for €7/8M to sell him in January. It is too much for the two Italian sides, which will battle to add him for free in July as well, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The Serie A duo would not mind bringing in a new option in the role in early 2022, though. The 27-year-old has boasted a complete skill-set in the past three seasons in Ligue 1. He has totaled 83 appearances with Les Dogues since joining from Belenenses in 2019.

Lazio and Napoli are hoping that Lille will change their minds and that the price tag will decrease in the next month. They are willing to invest a small sum to avoid a future bidding war on his wages, with foreign teams likely joining in.

The Biancocelesti currently do not have a pure left-back. They will soon put under contract Dimitrije Kamenovic, but he has little experience. They have also been linked to PSG’s Layvin Kurzawa, but his salary is a major issue at the moment. If they could not get Mandava, they would go after Emerson Palmieri next June, whom Maurizio Sarri likes a lot. He is currently on loan at Olympique Lyonnais, but it is almost impossible to get him in January. Chelsea have made an unsuccessful attempt to bring him back early, Sports Illustrated reports.
