Leeds have reportedly set sights on two Serie A players, Lazio’s Vedat Muriqi and Torino’s Ola Aina. Both could be on the move in January. The Biancocelesti, in particular, are eager to offload the out-of-favor striker and have had trouble finding a new home for him.
According to LaLazioSiamoNoi, Hull City recently inquired about the forward. However, they wanted to get him on loan, and the Italian side rebuffed them. Leeds might suggest the same formula, so it could be challenging to reach an agreement. Muriqi moved to Italy on a €20M move two years ago. Lazio need to monetize his departure in order to operate on the transfer market. He has appeared in 38 matches while in Rome, scoring just one goal.
Aina is considered expendable by Torino should a good offer come, Tuttosport reports. They already have further options on the wings and are looking to add one more. The 25-year-old has been called up for the African Cup of Nations. The Granata hope the competition will serve as a showcase to boost his price tag and attract suitors. Leeds have expressed only some preliminary interest at this stage.
The Nigerian international already played in Premier League at Fulham and Chelsea. The Cottagers did not pick up their €9M option to acquire him at the end of a loan spell last season. Torino have struck a deal with Lazio to sign Mohamed Fares to potentially replace Aina. However, Genoa have not freed him up yet, Tuttomercatoweb reports.
