Milan Aim to Bring Back Youth Product from Roma

Milan academy graduate Bryan Cristante is on the verge of leaving Roma after having spent four seasons in the Italian capital. The central midfielder has enjoyed a productive campaign in Jose Mourinho’s debut Giallorossi season.

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), Milan are open to bringing back their youth product back to Lombardy after eight years away. Throughout his three seasons at Milan, he made only five appearances, even scoring one goal in the process.

Under contract until 2024, Cristante has already been probed around by the Rossoneri. Milan have also made initial contact with the player’s agent, Giuseppe Riso. However, there has been no contact with the Roman club regarding a move for the former Atalanta man. Despite months of negotiations, there has been no progress regarding Cristante’s future.

Any transfer offer around the €20-30m mark will entice Roma, but it is understood that the Italian central midfielder is one of Jose Mourinho’s favourites.

Franck Kessie’s departure from Milan is bound to shake things up in the middle of the pitch, and Cristante’s potential is already known by the Rossoneri management.

Juventus are also known to possess some interest in Cristante.

The Roma talisman has 10 goals in 173 appearances since joining from Atalanta, where he was on loan.
