Milan and Barcelona Lead Juventus for Monaco Midfield Starlet

AS Monaco youth product Mamadou Coulibaly is turning heads all around Europe, and two Italians giants are in the fray. 17-year-old Coulibaly plays for the U19 division of the Ligue 1 outfit’s youth teams. The academy gem has garnered the attention of not only Azzurri heavyweights Milan and Juventus, but also two Premier League giants.

According to reports from Spanish outlet Diario Sport, Barcelona are also in the run for Coulibaly’s signature, along with aforementioned giants from England – Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

The midfielder is available for free in the summer and of all the interested suitors, the Rossoneri are reportedly leading the race, along with the Blaugrana.

Milan brought in French defender Pierre Kalulu on a similar move from Lyon few seasons ago, and are willing to do the same with Coulibaly. Technical director Paolo Maldini and chief scout Geoffrey Moncada are said to have set their sights on the teenager for quite a while now (via La Gazzetta dello Sport).

Whereas, the Spaniards expect him to join the ranks of Barca B.

The Bianconeri, on the other hand, look to replace an unsuccessful target from the same club, Aurelien Tchouameni, with Coulibaly.

The Monegasque talent possesses the makings of both a mezzala and a trequartista, with his playing style compared by Italian and Spanish media to that of Real Madrid starlet and ex-Rennes starlet Eduardo Camavinga.

One thing is for sure, any interested team must act fast for his signature.
