Milan aren’t too concerned about Bayern Munich eyeing Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan, but they might have to go through them to sign their top offensive target Joshua Zirkzee, TuttoSport informs.
The Bavarians have €40M clause to bring back the Dutchman, the right to match any offer, and are entitled to 50 percent of the fee. The striker doesn’t seem enthused by a potential return, but they might still acquire him to use him as a bargaining chip. The Felsinei are asking for €60M to other sides.
Milan would be more open to negotiating for either Hernandez or Maignan if they could get Zirkzee and a substantial amount of cash from Bayern Munich. Or if the Bundesliga powerhouse at least didn’t obstruct their pursuit of the starlet.
The center-forward spoke about his past to AD (via Tuttomercatoweb).
“I was lucky to be part of that team in 2019/2020 and win the Champions League. I’m a completely different player now. In that moment, I thought I was good. I was playing at Bayern and scored some goals. It was easy to believe that was my level. But I wasn’t even half as skilled as I’m now. I wasn’t ready. It was positive for me to take a step back and find out what’s needed to be successful at the top.”
Our Take on Bayern Munich, Milan, Hernandez, and Maignan
There’s some substance about Zirkzee, but there are too many moving parts for it to be a realistic scenario.
