Milan Great Shevchenko Dishes on Leao and De Ketelaere

Milan legend Andriy Shevchenko was spotted in the stands during the recent clash with Tottenham and commented on the game and more in an interview with Corriere della Sera.

“The Rossoneri seem back on track after the win over Torino. They looked more energetic and were fueled by the motivations that come with cup matches. I wish they overcame their difficult moment. We should remember that they managed to turn the situation around last season thanks to their courage and magic chemistry between all their components. They can qualify to the Round of Eight. English sides always play with a fast pace at home, but they can do it.”

Shevchenko dished on two Milan stars going through challenging stretches for different reasons.

“I hope Rafael Leao stays. It’s the right team for him to grow gradually. They won the Scudetto last season, and he’s showcasing himself in the Champions League this year. I’d like it if he inked the renewal. Charles De Ketelaere is skilled but maybe has to gain more self-confidence and awareness on his qualities.”

The Rossoneri will face Monza Saturday, which are led by their previous head honchos Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani.

“Knowing their ambition, I was sure they would put together a competitive team, but I couldn’t imagine they would be close to the European cups at this point of the season.”

Shevchenko, who’s contributing to helping Ukraine during the war, is eyeing a return on the bench down the line.

“It wouldn’t have been fair to take over a team because my mind was elsewhere in recent months. However, I’m considering going back to doing the job I love now.”
