Milan Line Up More Extensions After Locking Up Tomori

Milan announced the agreement with Fikayo Tomori over the weekend, and will attempt to finalize more extensions over the next month. Tommaso Pobega inked a deal that runs through 2027 recently as well.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via Mediaset), the next in line is Rade Krunic, who’s tied to the club until 2024. There shouldn’t be problems. He’s serving a key role since the Rossoneri are one midfielder short and the youngsters will be given time to grow.

Instead, Milan will focus on two thornier extensions, Ismael Bennacer and Rafael Leao, after the end of the summer window. As per Tuttomercatoweb’s Pietro Mazzara, the Algerian international had came to terms with the management early in early 2022. He was set to earn approximately €3.5M per season. However, he didn’t sign to bide time and he demands a salary equivalent to Theo Hernandez’s one now.

Instead, the talks with the Portuguese ace will start from scratch given his eruption at the end of the 2021/2022 season. Jorge Mendes might ask to remove his €150M release clause but would to meet the requests by the team in other areas for that to happen.

As per Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo, the Rossoneri believe they will be able to strike a deal, but his entourage wants about €7M per year. It would be their richest contract. PSG and his former director Luis Campos are looming, but they can acquire him only by activating his exit clause this summer.

Our Take on the Milan Extensions

This is the price of success, and it would be great for them if the new ownership will allow them to increase their wages-bill. Otherwise, some painful departures could be in order because it might become too pricey to keep everybody happy.
