Milan Outcast Draws Interest from Two Foreign Clubs

Rade Krunic’s career at Milan is nearing its end as two foreign sides are ready to go head-to-head for his services in January. According to Calciomercato, long-term admirers Fenerbahce are still in the picture, with Lyon reportedly lurking in the shadows.

Fenerbahce tried to lure Krunic to SuperLig in the summer. However, Milan coach Stefano Pioli pulled the plug on the deal. At the time, he thought the 30-year-old could be a valuable asset. Only a few months into the new campaign, the Italian tactician has deemed the unsettled midfielder surplus to requirements.

With Milan looking to balance the books in the winter by offloading several out-of-favor stars, there’s a decent chance for Kurnic to depart the San Siro. But Rossoneri won’t let their outcast leave for peanuts. It may take up to €7 million to get the deal over the line, even though the Bosnian’s contract runs out in 2025.

Given Fenerbahce’s financial capacity, it won’t be an obstacle. The Turks are not alone in the race for the wantaway Milan ace. Lyon must reinforce their squad following a humiliating start to the new Ligue 1 season. Les Gones have identified Krunic as a possible upgrade on their current midfield options.

Milan might use Lyon’s interest in the ex-Empoli man to negotiate Rayan Cherki’s arrival in Serie A. Pioli’s men have emerged as potential suitors for the super-talented French forward, who seems destined to leave the Groupama Stadium for a more prominent destination.
