Milan, Two Signings Expected to be Announced Soon

Milan’s journey this summer transfer window is far from over as they look to reinforce their midfield options, now with the onboarding of Napoli loanee Tiemoue Bakayoko from parent club Chelsea. According to Sky Sports (via Fabrizio Romano), negotiations are said to be ongoing between the Rossoneri and the Blues.

He is said to be surplus requirements at Chelsea and cash-crunched Napoli would count out from the race for his signature, although he was a constant presence for the Partenopei during the 2020/21 season.

His contract at Stamford Bridge expires in exactly one year, in June 2022, and Chelsea are reportedly keen on cashing in on his services rather than see him leave as a free agent. His market value of €20m might see some reluctance from interested clubs, including Ligue 1 side Rennes.

The 27-year-old defensive midfielder has been loaned out from Chelsea for the past three consecutive seasons – with spells in Milan, Monaco and Napoli since the 2018/19 season. He appeared 42 times for the Rossoneri during his initial loan spell.

Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi is also closing in on a move to Milan with the final details expected to unfold without hassle in the coming days.
