Milan Will Face Manchester United with Very Depleted Squad

Milan will travel to Manchester with just 19 men as they are dealing with several key absences. Only Sandro Tonali has recovered compared to the previous match against Verona. Ante Rebic and Theo Hernandez, which were hopeful, have been ruled out, Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The French defender missed the last Serie A fixture due to a bruised shin, while in this case he is sidelined by a stomach bug. The Croatian winger is instead still recovering from a hip soreness. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is nursing a thigh strain, like Mario Mandzukic, who is expected to return earlier than the Swedish teammate. Hakan Calhanoglu is on the shelf with an edema in his thigh, Ismael Bennacer with soreness in the same muscle. Alessio Romagnoli has been called up but is questionable to play due to a stomp. Sandro Tonali is available being left on the bench over the weekend because of a thigh contracture.

Rafael Leao will continue to spearhead the attack, looking to bag his first goal since early January. He will joined up front by two between Rade Krunic, Alexis Saelemaekers, Samu Castillejo and Brahim Diaz. Former Red Devil Diogo Dalot will fill in for Hernandez at left-back: he and Krunic decided the match versus the Scaligeri where Milan were similarly undermanned.

Manchester United are navigating few injuries of their own too as coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer announced that David De Gea, Donny Van De Beek, Juan Mata and Paul Pogba will not be at his dispoal, while Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani are in doubt.
