Milan Would Benefit from Major Windfall with Scudetto Win

Milan have been thriving on and off the pitch this season. The strong campaign has significantly increased the attendance at San Siro. It has registered a 15 percent spike compared to the pre-pandemic numbers. It would be higher it was not for the limited capacity. The enthusiasm of the crowd has been palpable.

Winning the Scudetto would have significant financial ramifications, on top of the glory, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports. Starting with TV rights, the champions cash in 12 percent of the pie that hinges on results. It amounts to about €20M on its own. The income from the Champions League market pool depends on the final position in the domestic league too. Finishing first is automatically worth €10M. Participating in the Supercoppa also nets a decent buck.

Taking home the title would impact the appeal of the brand as well. The earnings are less quantifiable in that sense, though. Milan announced 26 new sponsorship deals since August 2021. Their Youtube followers more than doubled in such span. The TikTok fanbase increased at a 162,5 percent rate since the start of the season.

Milan cut their financial losses from €194 to €90 in the past year. They forecast to be in the red by €50M in the next balance session. UEFA has resumed paying attention to Financial Fair Play, but the recent back-and-forth with them has been positive, the outlet relays. The 19th Scudetto would be the crowning achievement of diligent work of the management in the last triennium.
