Morata Agent Spills the Beans on Juventus Move

Alvaro Morata has had an excellent start of the season in his second stint at Juventus, but in the summer it looked like he was a fallback option after the Bianconeri could not close the deal for neither Edin Dzeko nor Luis Suarez. His agent Juanma Lopez disputed the notion in an interview on the site Gianlucadimarzio.com: “He has always been their top choice and that was the only possible destination in his mind. There was a problem at first because Atletico Madrid wanted to let him go only on a permanent transfer, but then the arrival of Suarez unblocked his sale.”

The manager continued: “Both Andrea Pirlo and Fabio Paratici called him multiple times, the director in particular had a big role in his career because he pushed a lot to sign him in the first place few years ago. I am sure they will acquire him outright at the end of the season.” Juventus faced some domestic competition: “Also Milan and Napoli pursued him.”

The Spanish striker has thrived in his return, in Champions League in particular, and has hit the net nine times and collected five assists in 14 appearances, immediately showing great chemistry with Cristiano Ronaldo. Juventus originally signed him on a €10M season-long loan and next summer the club will have a €45M option to buy him or a €10M one to extend the loan for another yar, then purchasing him for €35M in 2022.
