Mourinho and Sarri had verbally quarreled about which team arrived at the Derby with the worst toll following the continental fixtures. Lazio had more rest, as they faced Feyenoord on Tuesday, while Roma played two days later against Slavia Prague but faced less pressure considering they were in a good spot in the group standing. They had a very lackadaisical performance, perhaps with the showdown in mind.
The Biancocelesti tactician had dubbed Roam’s fixture ’a friendly,’ and the Special One answered back. The latter was spicy toward their crosstown rivals on Sunday, blatantly calling Pedro ’a diver.’
