Hellas Verona wingback Jackson Tchatchoua has reportedly drawn inquiries from several top clubs, including Napoli and Juventus. According to Calciomercato, the two Serie A heavyweights have dispatched scouts to monitor the 22-year-old’s progress at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.
Napoli boss Antonio Conte is particularly interested in Tchatchoua. The Cameroonian starlet would fit his 3-4-2-1 seamlessly if they can lure him to the Diego Maradona Stadium in January. With Giovanni Di Lorenzo dropping to a back three, Conte needs another quality option on the right.
Pasquale Mazzocchi has become a first-team regular at Napoli in the early season. But his performances have often flattered to deceive, making Conte consider a move for Tchatchoua. However, the Verona star won’t come cheap as the club turned down Rennes’ €10 million offer during the summer transfer window.
Verona will reportedly try to offload their prized possession for €15m in the winter. Though Napoli are ready to pounce, they’re not alone. Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is Tchatchoua’s admirer. He has already sent scouts to watch the youngster in action amid his blistering start to the season.
Tchatchoua netted his first Serie A goal on the stroke of the international break as Verona triumphed 2-0 at Genoa. His excellent start to the season has earned him his maiden call-up for the Cameroon national team. And if he continues like this, it could soon result in a high-profile move, with Napoli and Juventus waiting in the wings.
