Napoli Receive Positive Updates on Their Injured Stars

Walter Mazzarri will likely have almost a full roster at his disposal as he’ll make his second Napoli debut against Atalanta on Saturday. Victor Osimhen has been progressively ramping up in training and is poised to be an option, Sky relays.

The Nigerian star worked partially with the rest of the group on Wednesday. He’ll be a full-go either on Thursday or the eve of the game. If he doesn’t have setbacks, he’ll be called up and see some minutes off the bench.

Piotr Zielinski headed back early from Poland due to an acute case of tonsillitis but is feeling better. He had the same workload as Osimhen in the most recent training session. He is on track to be available too. Napoli could also have Alex Meret back, who sat out the past game due to strain to a tibial muscle.

If those progresses are confirmed in the final practices, Mazzarri will have the entire squad to choose from besides Mario Rui. He will miss a month and a half with a thigh strain. As anticipated, the returning gaffer will stick with 4-3-3 despite his historical preference for a three-man defense.

There shouldn’t be particular changes to the usual Napoli lineup. Giacomo Raspadori is in good form and should get the nod over Giovanni Simeone up front. Natan is the favorite over Juan Jesus and Leo Ostigard to pair up with Amir Rrahmani. Elijf Elmas would start if Zielinski weren’t 100 percent.
