Tammy Abraham scored his first goal for Milan since joining the club from Roma late in the summer as the Rossoneri hammered Venezia 4-0. The English striker was ruthless from the spot to build on an assist in a 2-2 draw against Lazio last time out.
Abraham linked up with Milan as part of a swap deal that saw Alexis Saelemaekers go in the opposite direction. He set up Rafael Leao for a second-half equalizer at the Stadio Olimpico on his debut before the international break.
However, he came off the bench against Lazio. Paulo Fonseca handed him his first Milan start on Saturday evening, and the 26-year-old didn’t disappoint. Though he converted a penalty, Abraham looked sharp in the final third, combining well with his new teammates.
The new Milan center-forward spoke to DAZN after the match, sharing his feelings about opening his Rossoneri account.
“I haven’t realized it yet, but when I get home, I’ll think about it and understand how beautiful it was,” Abraham said, as reported by MilanNews. “The important thing is to continue giving my best.
“For me, it’s a dream. I came here to help the team as much as possible. My first home game, I felt great sensations in front of an incredible crowd.”
After getting off the mark in Serie A, Milan will embark on another Champions League campaign on Tuesday as they take on Liverpool. It’ll be their final test ahead of the first Derby della Madonnina of the 2024/25 season.
