Newcastle Sensationally Eye the Special One to Replace Howe

Jose Mourinho has panned out his debut season at Roma surprisingly well after an onslaught of criticism during his early days in the campaign. Roma are yet to take on Dutch giants Feyenoord in the final of the Europa Conference League – the Giallorossi’s first European final in 31 years.

Taking that into consideration, Roma are unlikely to part ways with Mourinho anytime soon as one club in particular is seeking to reinforce the dugout with the Special One.

According to reports emerging from England (via Daily Star), despite Eddie Howe leading Newcastle United out of the relegation zone, the club is eyeing an ambitious move for the Roma boss. However, it is understood that he will take some persuading to arrive at St. James’ Park.

Newcastle United were in the midst of a relegation battle just months ago, before Howe came calling to propel a remarkable resurgence to keep the Magpies in the top flight. Surprisingly enough, Newcastle reportedly want to part ways with the former Bournemouth manager.

Mourinho recently became the first manager to reach five major European finals with four different clubs. Roma will be his chance to create unprecedented history as his side prepare for the Conference League showdown. Winning the competition would mean he would become the first manager to win all possible European titles in store.

It is highly unlikely that the club and Mourinho will go opposite ways ahead of next season as a long-term project is in the sights of the Giallorossi.
