Palermo Set to Beat Serie A Sides for Italy U20 Prodigy Prati

SPAL’s Matteo Prati is a midfielder in demand, with no less than four clubs interested in signing him, including three from the top tier. However, it is Palermo from Serie B who look likely to bag his signature despite advanced links with Sassuolo, which wish to add to their roster after the arrival of Luca Lipani.

As per latest information from Calciomercato (via SassuoloNews), the Neroverdi have presented Ferrara-based SPAL with €5M offer, which is expected to be rebuffed amidst Cagliari’s presence. The Sardinians could offer more for the 19-year-old, whose contract at SPAL expires in the summer of 2025.

However, according to Palermo Today, it is the Rosanero which have already struck an agreement with SPAL for Prati. Palermo sporting director Leandro Rinaudo is on the verge of finalizing the transfer, and it remains for Prati to accept the offer.

Prati starred for Italy at the FIFA U20 World Cup recently, finishing runners-up with the Azzurrini after losing out to Uruguay in the final. Apart from the aforementioned, Bologna have also been named as suitors for Prati. The defensive midfielder has been likened to Roma icon Daniele De Rossi.
